Privacy Policy
DriveDist is a static informational website. We collect the minimum data necessary to understand how the site is used, and we respect your right to decline analytics entirely.
What we collect
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics through Google Analytics 4, but only if you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode and no identifying cookies are set on your device. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any account data — DriveDist has no login or user accounts.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, request path) as part of normal web-server operation and for security purposes. These logs are retained by Cloudflare under their own privacy terms.
Cookies
We use the following cookie categories:
- Strictly necessary — none at this time. The site works without any cookies set by us.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) are set only after you click Accept in the consent banner. If you decline, these cookies are never placed. - Preference — we store your consent choice in your browser’s
localStorageunder the keydd_consent. This is not a cookie and is not sent to our servers; it simply prevents the banner from reappearing on every visit.
You can change your consent choice at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the page footer.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode v2 enabled. With your consent, we receive aggregate reports on page views, time on site, geographic region (country / city level), device type, and the paths visitors take through the site. We do not enable advertising features, remarketing, or cross-site identifiers in our GA4 property.
Google acts as a data processor; their privacy policy covers how they handle data they receive. Our GA4 data retention is configured to the minimum supported interval.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. The only external services that receive request-level data in the course of running DriveDist are:
- Cloudflare — content delivery and DDoS protection for the domain.
- Google — analytics, only with your consent.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with equivalent data-protection law, you have the following rights with respect to any data we process about you:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold that is linked to you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of data associated with you (for GA4 data, this is performed through Google’s user-deletion API on request).
- Objection — object to processing of your data for analytics at any time by declining the consent banner or clearing your analytics cookies.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in the About page. We will respond within the statutory timeframe (30 days in the EU).
Children’s privacy
DriveDist is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or process data, we will update this page and the Last updated date below. For substantive changes, we will additionally re-prompt the consent banner so that prior choices can be reviewed.
